Esther D. Derrow, 82, of Waynesboro, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 in Fishersville.
She was born on July 28, 1936 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Herbert P. Davis and the late Alice T. Dofflemyer Davis
She graduated from Montvideo High School and enjoyed being a homemaker. She was a member of Church of Christ in Waynesboro, a life time member of Girl Scouts where she served as a leader of two Brownie Troops and one Junior Troop. In addition, she also volunteered at the South River Twilight Camp and Cave High Day Camp. She earned the coveted Honor Pin and the Girl Scouts Trainer’s Pin sharing and teaching new leaders about the Girl Scout Program She loved story telling with Girl Scouts, traveling and her family whom she dearly loved.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard P. Derrow, Jr.; a grandson, Dustin P. Derrow and a sister, Helen “Norita” Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Richard “Dickie” Derrow; daughters, Desiree Tomlin and her husband, D.W. Tomlin and Terree Rinaca and her husband, Darrell Rinaca; grandchildren, Alicia Midkiff , Christy Huffman and her husband Doug Huffman; great grandchildren, Addison Midkiff and Tessa Midkiff along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville, VA 22939, where a funeral service will be held in the chapel 1:00pm on Saturday, October 27, 2018.
Interment to follow at Augusta Memorial Park.
