Douglas Randolph “Butch” Tyree, Jr., died Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the Shenandoah House, Fishersville.
Doug was born in Lynchburg, Virginia on October 28, 1942, the only child of the late Jean Annette Martin and Douglas Randolph Tyree, Sr. He moved to Waynesboro when he was six years old and was a 1961 graduate of Waynesboro High School and attended Ferrum Junior College and Wake Forest University.
Doug started United Servo Hydraulics in 1989 and considered ALL of his employees very special to him.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter, Sheri Tyree Salemi.
Doug is survived by his wife, Julie Pullen Tyree; daughter, Baret Avery and husband, Lane of Signal Mountain, Tennessee; son, David Tyree and wife, Angie of Waynesboro, Virginia; daughter, Rachel Gamble and husband, John of Hillsborough, North Carolina; and son, Jacob Tyree and wife, Rachel Anne of Waynesboro, Virginia. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Hailey Salemi, Colton Tyree, Maddie Avery and Brayden Tyree.
Doug also leaves behind MANY special friends that have touched his life and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Joan Pullen, who were very dear to him.
The family will receive friends at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville on Friday, December 7, 2018, from 5:00-8:00pm. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Riverview Cemetery, Waynesboro, conducted by Pastor April Cranford. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery for the service.
