David Ray Brown, 64, of Waynesboro, went to be with the Lord, Friday, June 9, 2017, at his home.  He was born July 23, 1952, in Harrisonburg, son of Ray Martz Brown and Louise Christine Via Brown of Waynesboro.

David was a 1970 graduate of Wilson Memorial High School.  He retired from DuPont/Invista in September 2015, with 37 years of service.  He was a member of ClearView Church, Waynesboro.

David was a great man of faith that enjoyed reading the Bible and spending time with the Lord each day.  He loved every opportunity to be with family and was always willing to help whenever needed.  He was always passionate about anything sports related and he was an avid collector of sports cards and other collectibles.  He enjoyed movies and going on vacation to many different places, but considered Myrtle Beach to be his favorite. He loved all of his cats, but especially Lexi and his pug, Obi.  Over the years, he supported many worthy charities.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Doctors and Nurses at Augusta Health and special thanks to the Augusta Health – Hospice of the Shenandoah Staff, especially, Meagan, Carol and Carolyn.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Louis C Brown and Ollie M. Brown and his maternal grandparents, Elzy Via and Gladys Via.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 43 years, Deborah E. Brown; his son, Jeremy D. Brown and his wife, Kacy of Claremore, Oklahoma; two brothers, Daniel Lee Brown of Fishersville and Eric Wayne Brown of Springhill, Tennessee and a multitude of special friends and co-workers.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11am, Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Dr., Fishersville, conducted by Pastor John Hamric and Pastor Danny Fisher.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to ClearView Church, 307 W. Main St., Waynesboro, VA 22980.
