Charles (Bernie) Bernard Phillips

Charles (Bernie) Bernard Phillips, 58, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 22, 2019, with his family by his side, at Augusta Health.  He was born in Charleston, West Virginia on October 26, 1961, a son of the late John and Gloria Phillips.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, John (JD) Phillips and his sister, Tina Harvey.

Bernie enjoyed camping by the river, exploring nature and fishing.

He is survived by three daughters, Christal Campbell and husband, Kevin Campbell of Verona, Brandy Wade of Grottoes and Jennifer Leonard and husband, Jason Leonard of Verona; one son, Naamen Le Fils of Florida; his dog, Spade; his brother, Terry Phillips and wife, Becky Phillips of Waynesboro; his sister, Tonya Phillips of Stuarts Draft; five grandchildren and four great-grandkids; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.  He was loved by all that met him.

The family would like to offer a special “Thank You” to Dr. Merritt, the nurses on the second floor of Augusta Health and to his niece, Lori Clark.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Waynesboro Free Methodist Church, 600 Hopeman Parkway, Waynesboro, VA 22980. A lunch will follow afterward at the church.

Contributions, in his memory, may be made to  Waynesboro Free Methodist Church, 600 Hopeman Parkway, Waynesboro, VA 22980. Any cards or flowers may be sent to the home of his daughter, Christal Campbell, 40 Chipmunk Dr., Verona, VA 24482.
