Carolyn F. Sizer

Carolyn F. Sizer, 91, of Lyndhurst, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Augusta Nursing and Rehab Center, Fishersville.  She was born on November 18, 1926 in Torrington, Connecticut, the daughter of the late Rev. Willis L. Sizer and Olive Booth Sizer.

She was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Staunton.  Miss Sizer was in Security with DuPont, where she retired January 1, 1984 after 37 years of service. A Life Member of the Shenandoah Valley Kennel Club, she loved showing her dogs.  She raised Basenjis and Shetland Sheepdogs.  Her other interests included history, classical music and politics.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Sizer and her nephew, Gary Sizer, Paul’s son.

Survivors include her brother, Wesley Sizer of Emporia and Carolyn’s neighbors on Whiteoak Circle in Lyndhurst, Virginia.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro.  Those attending the service are asked to meet at the cemetery.
