Bonnie Chittum Kerber, 84, passed away August 3, 2018 at Augusta Health. She was the daughter of the late Irenus and Mary Betty Alexander. She was the last remaining member of her immediate family. She was pre-deceased by her first husband, Howard Parrish; her loving husband of 35 years, Ernest Taylor Chittum; grandson, Michael Drumheller; step-grandson, Kevin Meadows; step-son, Larry Chittum; great grandson, Dustin Parrish; three brothers and three sisters.
She retired from Virginia Panel Corporation and Coldwell Banker Real Estate.
She leaves behind her husband, Reinhold Kerber; her daughter, Mary Ada and husband, Dennis Meadows; her sons, Russell and wife, Terrie Parrish, Marvin and wife, Shirley Parrish, Charles and wife, Fay Chittum, Kenneth Chittum, and daughter-in-law, Tina Chittum; step-daughters, Simone and husband, Dave Alley, and Michelle and husband, Jorge Amador. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Marsha (Jose) Rodriguez, Crystal Drumheller, Rusty Parrish, Denise (Josh) Hamilton, Ernie Lee (Pam) Parrish, Amber Chittum, Peggy Parrish, Tuesday Chittum and many great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her precious dog, “Bud Light”.
She was the pillar and strength of her entire family. She will always be remembered as the one willing to help anyone at any time even when she didn’t feel up to it. She will be greatly missed by her entire family and all of her great friends.
She had a very strong belief in the Lord and was a member of First Christian Church in Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends from 6–8 PM Monday, August 6, 2018, at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Dr., Fishersville, and where services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, August 7, 2018, conducted by Pastor Dale Wood. Burial will be in Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro. Active Pallbearers will be: Rusty Parrish, Charles Chittum, Keith Meadows, Jose Rodriguez, Josh Hamilton, and Gary Morrison.
