Alfred George Ashton, Jr. “Al”, passed away November 10th peacefully at home with his wife by his side. He is now with the lord after a losing battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife Deborah Marie Ashton and sons Michael and Douglas Ashton as well as a blessed group of family members, so exceptional, as to make them hard to describe with clarity or the love and esteem in which he held them. Al loved his family “BIG TIME”.
Al was born in Newton, NJ in 1942, son of the late Lillie May and Alfred Sr. Al graduated with a degree in History after 8 years of evening attendance from Bloomfield College.
He worked in a glass factory and started his own company American Density Materials in 1981 until this past September. He was one of 2 to 3 people in the world that made glass density measuring instruments for laboratory testing. “The market was the world”.
Al was actively involved in youth sports in NJ including baseball, soccer, and ice hockey.
He lived in Staunton, since 1998 with his “Beautiful Angel Debbie” in a state of God’s blessings.
