Alethia Robyn (Hodge) Shifflett

Alethia Robyn Shifflett, 48, of 105 George Street, Staunton, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 3, 2017. She was born in Kings Daughter Hospital, Staunton, Virginia, on March 19, 1968.

Robyn was a graduate of Fort Defiance High School and was a cook and CNA by trade. She received the Full Life Award for her extraordinary service at Oak Hill Health Care in Staunton, Virginia. She enjoyed jewelry making, camping, gardening, photography and art coloring.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Augusta Health-Hospice of the Shenandoah, The Bridge Fund, Augusta Health Cancer Center and her amazing nurses, “Peggy”, “Michelle” and “Marsha”.

She was preceded in death by her son, Dustin Keller Nelson and her grandmother, Maida Painter.

Survivors include her husband of 17 years, (they were married Augusta 14, 1999), Charles (Sam) A. Shifflett; her children, Shyanne Shifflett of Staunton, VA, Amber Casey and husband Adam Casey of Craigsville, VA, Michael Nelson of Craigsville, VA and Damian Nelson of Barren Ridge, VA; her granddaughter, Thalia Grace Casey; her father, Charles Hodge, Sr. and mother and step-father, Loretta F. Stokes and Charles Stokes; her sisters and brothers, Misti Floyd of Staunton, Carl Hodge and wife, Loretta Hodge of Roanoke, VA, Pam Hodge of Waynesboro, VA, Christine Hodge of Raphine, VA  and Charles R. Hodge, Jr. of Staunton, VA.; special friend, Pamela Boxler; extended daughter, Madison Earnest; her mother-in-law, Marie Cowardin; sisters-in-law, Dora Snead and Aleta Ilch.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville, VA 22939 and where a memorial service will be held at 7:00pm in the chapel, conducted by The Rev. David Whitesell. At other times, the family will receive friends at the Shifflett residence, 105 George Street, Staunton, VA 24401.
