"We are all in this together"
Our prayers go out to those affected by the Coronavirus (COVID-19), and we extend our appreciation to the First Responders who are protecting us during this difficult time.
Effective March 23, 2020, Governor Ralph S. Northam, issued an Executive Order Fifty-Three (2020). The order imposes all public gatherings and private gatherings of ten (10) or more individuals are prohibited.
On March 30, 2020, Governor Ralph S. Northam, issued an STAY AT HOME ORDER. The order directs the residence of Virginia to stay at home and limits movement outside of their home beyond their essential needs.
We are faced with the unprecedented challenges and your health and safety are extremely important to us. We have made a very difficult decision to work with our families to adjust service times and following limitations of attendees. We will be communicating funeral arrangement planning via the telephone, email or fax. Emergency appointments may be made with one of our professional funeral directors with a limited number of attendees.
For your convenience our phones are answered twenty-four (24) hours a day, and seven (7) days a week.
We assure you we are available to serve your needs to keep your family and friends safe during this difficult time. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter to assist in keeping our community safe.
We are currently monitoring the situation very closely and following the guidelines set by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), and the State of Virginia Health Agencies to develop policies as the situation evolves.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) reports the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is likely spread through droplets when someone infected coughs, and/or sneezes. People can also contract the virus by touching their mouth, nose, eyes and after touching an object or surface with the virus on it.
The (CDC) believes the symptoms may appear several days after exposure. The virus causes mild to moderate symptoms in most healthy people. Sever symptoms are more likely in elderly or those with existing health issues.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) is recommending the following to minimize exposure:
* Wash hands frequently and use hand sanitizer.
* Maintaining Social Distance at least six (6) feet from another individual.
* Practice Respiratory Hygiene by covering your mouth or nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or Sneeze. Immediately dispose of the tissue - A single cough can produce up to 3000 droplets. These droplets can land on people, clothing, surfaces, and smaller droplets can remain in the air up to three (3) hours.
* Researchers have found in studies that the virus may be inactive in a minute by disinfecting surfaces.
IF YOU SHOW SIGNS OF A FEVER, COUGH OR DIFFICULTY BREATHING, SEEK TREATMENT IMMEDIATELY.
