Madeline (Coffey) Hewitt

Madeline Coffey Hewitt, 91, of Waynesboro, went peacefully to her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 with Jackie by her side.

Madeline was born May 12, 1932 in Nelson County to the late Forest Coffey and the late Eva Campbell Coffey.

Madeline was a faithful member of West Waynesboro Church of Christ since 1960. She retired from Genicom after 35 years of service, and was employed for 26 years with K-Mart in Waynesboro.

In addition to her parents, Madeline was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elmer C. Hewitt; brothers, Houston and Richard Coffey, and a sister, Louise Coffey Campbell.

Madeline is survived by her loving daughter, Jackie Hewitt; sister, Ruby Coffey, sister-in-law, Barbara Coffey, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held in the chapel  at 1:00pm conducted by Pastor Billy Coffey.

Interment will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.
