Lewis Hansford Huffman, II Obituary

Lewis Hansford Huffman II, 68, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024 in Nelson County. He was born in Waynesboro to Lewis H. Huffman and Dorothy Lotts Huffman on January 27, 1956.

Lewis graduated from Stuarts Draft High School. He worked as a painting contractor at Huffman Professional Painting for 35 years before retiring in 2021 and also at the Wintergreen Resort in Nellysford Community. Lewis was also a Licensed Realtor. He was a member of Landmark Tabernacle Pentecostal Church. Lewis’s hobbies included collecting cars, golfing, hunting, fishing, and buying antiques.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis H. Huffman and his nephew, Derik Huffman.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughters, Jessica Merriam (Rob) of Omaha, Nebraska and Cynthia Stacks (Eddie) of Dothan, Alabama; his step-son, Cory Rodgers and his wife, Jennifer; his granddaughters, Alaina and Delilah Stacks and grandson, Lucas Rodgers; his companion, Sandy Huffman; siblings, David Huffman (Susie) of Stuarts Draft, and Tammy Patterson of Waynesboro; nieces, Taylor Patterson and Erica Morris; step-sister, Tiara Henson. Lewis had many relationships with various people in the surrounding communities. They all can acknowledge his friendly personality and genuine heart. When Lewis loved someone, he loved them deeply and had a unique connection based in the interests involved. Lewis was charming, fun, but also simple with his communication. He gave the best hugs and made sure you knew his love for you. So many love and will miss him, but we will see him again soon.

A memorial service and fellowship will be held at 11am on May 4, 2024 at Landmark Tabernacle Pentecostal Church, 127 Warble Rd. McGaheysville, Va.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to Lao Russall for her true love and friendship with Lewis at Swannanoa, to Pastor Derik Jones for being Lewis’ brother in God, and to Flora and Frank Ballard (deceased) for loving Lewis like a son.
