Betty Hite Cook


Betty Hite Cook, 74, of Fishersville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Shenandoah Nursing Home.


She was born December 27, 1938 in Weyers Cave, VA to the late Benjamin F. Hite and the late Virginia O. Fitzgerald Hite.


Before her retirement she was employed with the Waynesboro News Virginian and DuPont. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.


In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Hansford “Pete” Hite.


She is survived by her children, Ronald Lee Cook and his wife Janice and Lisa R. Long and her husband Richard; grandchildren, Ronald L. Cook, II and Charles C. Cook and his wife Judy; great grandchildren, Aisley, Stazia and Brisa Cook; brothers, Harvey Hite and his wife Sarah, Stuart Hite and his wife Jan and Richard Hite and his wife Amy.


The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2013 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 961 Goose Creek Road, Fishersville, VA 22939.


A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery in Stuarts Draft, conducted by Pastor Michael Jones.

so sorry about your mom .she is resting peacefully now shw was one of my favorite resident when i was working deepest blessings goes out to the family pat.

Ronnie, Janice and Lisa and families.... I'm so sorry to hear about your loss of Betty. She was a beautiful person inside and out. I have so many fond memories of her. She was such an inspiration to me many years ago. She is now in resting in the arms of God. May God be with you during the next several weeks as you face this difficult time. God bless... Wanda Losh
