I worked with Vic as a fellow ironworker for a number of years. As I remember Vic, the first image is his warm smile and firm handshake. We sometimes worked in nasty conditions, both sweltering hot and miserably cold, but Vic would melt away the tension with that sincere smile and extended hand. There is a certain camaraderie among ironworkers, and Vic embodied that bond. Vic will always be my friend. Vic was real. What you saw was what you got. Rest in peace my friend.

Vick was an energetic person, helpful to others and an intelligent man who could do just about anything. He was part of a generation of people that helped make this country strong, understanding that willingness to work hard was the road to attaining your goals. I will always remember his boundless energy and his smile.
