Steven "Skipper" D. Rankin, Sr.

Steven “Skipper” D. Rankin, Sr. 62, of Verona passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 in Verona.

He was born May 27, 1954 in Waynesboro to the late Warren E. Rankin, Sr. and the late Nora I. Rankin.

He is survived by his children, Melissa (Mike) Sprague, Steven Rankin and Hannah (Michael) Bower; grandchildren, Tessa Sprague, Bryanna Rankin, Tilena Rankin and Chandler Bower.

Skipper was a genuine person and loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his beloved dog “Leah”. He was an avid NASCAR fan and looked forward to racing at Eastside Speedway.

There will be a casual gathering of friends and family from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church, 901 Shenandoah Ave. Waynesboro, VA 22980.
