Shawn Patrick Sims

Shawn Patrick Sims, 28, of Stuarts Draft, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015, at his residence.  He was born on January 9, 1987, in Charlottesville, the son of Randy and Marline Sims of Stuarts Draft.

Shawn enjoyed camping, cars and especially spending time with his son, family and friends.  He was a Sales Associate with Lowe’s in Staunton and had attended Calvary Assembly of God.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Glen and Frances Sims and his maternal grandparents, Maynard Fields and Dana Fields Bogart.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his son, Patrick Sims of Waynesboro; two brothers, David Sims of Cookeville, Tennessee and Michael Sims of Staunton; one sister, Gin’a Sims of Swoope, three nieces, one nephew and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm, Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Greenmonte Fellowship, 1661 Cold Springs Road, Stuarts Draft conducted by Pastor Dustin Potter and Pastor Seth Hankee.

 In lieu of flowers the family suggests that friends and family consider making contributions to assist them with expenses and requests that they be sent, in Shawn’s memory, to Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville, VA 22939.
