Ruth Evelyn Goines

Ruth Evelyn Goines, 89, of Waynesboro, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Augusta Health, Fishersville, VA.
She was born in Augusta County, VA and was the daughter of the late Nathan O. Williams and Lina M. (Washington) Williams.  She was the last surviving member of her family which consisted of 12 children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry R. Goines, Sr. and son Harry R. Goines, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Larry L. Goines and wife, Carolyn, and her two grandchildren; Candace Clark and husband, James of San Antonio, TX and Nakia Williams and wife, Tiffany of Elkton, VA.  Also, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family members and special friends.

The family expresses sincere gratitude to the staff of Avante’ of Waynesboro and Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah for their kind and compassionate care.

The family will receive friends at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville on Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the Charlton and Groome Funeral Home on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Rev. William H. Merritt, Jr. officiating.  It was her request that there will be no public viewing or repast.  Burial will follow immediately at Augusta Memorial Park.
