Robert Edward "Bob" Lucas, Sr.

Robert Edward “Bob” Lucas, Sr., 84, of Staunton, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in Fishersville.

Bob was born April 5, 1933 in Augusta County to the late William and Vivian Lucas.

He was a 1951 graduate of Wilson High School, served in the Army and retired from DuPont in 1985.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William and Baxter; and his son, Glenn Lucas; sisters, Carrie Nuchols, Lillian Gordon and a grandson, Aaron Scott Johnson.

He is survived by his son, Robert (Lisa) Lucas, their children, Meghan, Emiley and Robert III; daughter, Melinda (David) Johnson and Bob’s children’s mother, Jane Lucas Kidd; Bob’s companion of 27 years, La Rue Brown and her children, Clif (Vicky) and Eddie (Rita) Wilhoit and their children, Allison and Branson; Bob’s siblings, Reba (Jerry) Thompson, Ruby (Dwayne) Isham and Jimmy (Betty) Lucas.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Augusta Memorial Park. Friends may come to pay respects on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 9 am until 5 pm, at the Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville.
