Rex Mason Batten

Rex Mason Batten, of Waynesboro, went home to be with the Lord, on Sunday, June 18, 2017. He was born September 8, 1940, in Albemarle Country, to the late William H. Batten (Fatty) and Elease W. Batten. He is preceded in death by his brother, William J. Batten and step-daughter, Tammy Haynes Beltran.

He is survived by three sisters, Rachel B. Shifflett, Sandra B. Thomas, and Willma B. Click; his wife of 40 years, Linda L. Batten; his son, Rex Batten and wife Rose; his step-son, Robert Haynes; his grandchildren, Jessica Lopez and husband Raul, Amanda Batten, Gary Powell, Sierra Haynes and fiancé, Lawrence Dudley, and Noah Beltran. He is also survived by 8 great- grandchildren, multiple nieces and nephews, and the beloved family dog, Abigail.

Rex loved spending time with family and friends, he loved riding motorcycles, and his favorite way to start the day was having breakfast with family and friends.

There will be a memorial service at 2pm on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Faith Worship Center in Stuarts Draft, Virginia. After the service, there will be desserts and drinks in the reception hall.
