Mary Kerby Campbell

Mary Kerby Campbell, 84, of Waynesboro, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 28, 2017, at her home.  She was born in Charlottesville on March 4, 1933, daughter of the late Frank Kerby, Sr and Catherine Kerby. 

Mary was a long-time member and a former Deacon of First Baptist Church, Waynesboro.  She was previously an organist and Sunday School teacher at Hebron Baptist Church, Afton. She was retired from General Electric. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur M. Campbell, Jr; her son, Scott Blake Campbell; and her sister, Ethel Kerby Flippo. 

She is survived by children; Arty Campbell of Waynesboro, Deena Meadows (Jim) of Yorktown and Randy Campbell of Waynesboro; one brother, Rev.Marvin Frank Kerby, Jr. (Nancy) of West Point; six grandchildren, AC Campbell (Katie), Carmen Mulherin (Ben), Laura Gorence (Mike), Blake Campbell, Amanda Campbell, and Catherine Meadows; two great-grandchildren, Landon and Bayley Campbell.

Everyone who had the fortune of knowing Mary has been blessed with her unconditional kindness and loving nature.  The pain of her loss is tempered by knowing of her joy in being reunited with Art and Scott.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, June 2, 2017,at First Baptist Church, 301 S. Wayne Avenue, Waynesboro, conducted by The Rev. Larry Jones and Mary's brother, Marvin.  Interment will be in Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro. 

The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm, Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville.
