Marie D. (Morris) Padgett

Marie D. Padgett, 83, of Crimora, went to be in the arms of Jesus on March 3, 2018.  She was born in Crimora, on January 7, 1935, daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret Morris.

Marie was a devout Christian woman who loved and studied God’s word daily.  She is remembered for her shop, Marie’s Cakes and Crafts.  She enjoyed gardening with her husband by her side, decorating, sewing and absolutely loved sitting with her grand and great grandchildren crafting and coloring.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Carey Morris and Junior Morris and one sister, Myrtle Ellinger.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Howard Padgett; three daughters, Donna McVey, Kim Padgett and Melinda Higgs all of Crimora; one sister, Isabell Ludwick of Crimora; grandchildren, Cylina, Miranda, Jessica, Cassie and her husband Kaleb and Megan and her husband, Matt; great-grandchildren, Ashlynn, Kamryn, Amber, Christopher, Gracie, Brenna, Maycee, Maddyx, Eli, Colt and Takoda; son-in-law, Jackie McVey and wife, Melissa of Waynesboro and her special fur baby, Misty Moonlight.

Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 P.M., March 8, 2018 at Harriston Christian Center, 107 Harriston Rd, Grottoes, VA 24441, conducted by Pastor Durwood Cowan.

The family will receive friends, at the center, Thursday from 6:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.
