Margaret Ann (Walker) Woods

Margaret Ann Woods, 82, of Waynesboro, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at Augusta Health, Fishersville.  She was born in Washington, DC, on August 12, 1935, the daughter of the late George R. Walker and Margaret R. Williams Walker.

Mrs. Woods was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and after many years of service was retired from the State of Virginia.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Augusta Health, The Hospice of the Shenandoah, Augusta Nursing and Rehab and Dr. Christopher Heck.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Woods and a brother, Major L. Walker.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl D. Lassiter of Staunton, William T. Woods, Jr. and wife, Pamela of Killeen, Texas, Van W. Woods of Richmond, Sharon M. Jones  of Staunton and Reviennia A. Woods of Staunton; her brother, Gary M. Walker and wife, Diane of Maryland; her sister-in-law, Alee Washington of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, Shavonne Lassiter, Kehli Woods, Byron Walder and Arthur “LJ” Jones and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a host of cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 223 Oak Grove Church Road, Waynesboro, VA 22980, conducted by Bishop T. E. Payne, Sr.  Burial will be in Augusta Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm, Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville.
