Madeline Blose

Madeline Blose, 80, of Fishersville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at her home.

She was born in Greene County on November 16, 1935 to the late Zettie Shifflett and Sarah Roach Shifflett.

She was the previous owner of Brooks Restaurant and owner and operator of Waffle Inn in Verona since 1986. She enjoyed cross-stitching and jewelry making. She loved to pray and would often say she is at peace with the Lord. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she treasured her devoted husband for his cooking and taking care of her.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death her brothers, Lester Shifflett and Nathan Shifflett; sister-in-law, Linda Shifflett and a brother-in-law, Curtis Blose.

She is survived by loving husband of 63 years, Robert L. Blose; children, Carolyn Y. Landram, Vanessa A. Myers and Robert L. “Bobby” Blose, Jr. and wife, Tina; Grandchildren, Wayne Myers and wife, Jenny, Genny Rogers and husband, Dustin, Lisa Crouch and husband, Tony, Joshua Mayberry and wife, Stacie and Kayla Mayberry; great grandchildren, Annalyn W. Rogers, Darian L. Rogers, Rachel Ann Myers and Wyatt L. Cook; siblings, Rosezelia Doffleymer and husband, Randolph, Dewey Shifflett and wife, Dottie, Betty Shifflett and husband, Lonnie and Eddie Shifflett; sisters-in-law, Barbara Shifflett and Mary Shifflett; nephew, Dale Blose; sister-in-law, Edith Blose and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, May 13, 2016 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville, VA 22939 and where a funeral will be held in the chapel at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 14, 2016 conducted by Lonnie Shifflett and Rev. John Bradshaw. 

Pallbearers will be, Todd Shifflett, Tony Shifflett, Steve Shifflett, George Shifflett, Allan Shifflett, Kelley Shifflett and Wayne Doffleymer. Honorary pallbearers will be, Wayne Myers, Jr., Dustin Rogers, Tony Crouch and Josh Mayberry.

Interment to follow at Oak Lawn Memory Gardens, Staunton.
