Faye Forbus Bowie

Faye Forbus Bowie, 79, of Stuarts Draft, went to be with her Savior on Monday, March 13, 2017, at Avante at Waynesboro.  She was born January 28, 1938, in Waynesboro, a daughter of the late Pauline Anderson Forbus Martin and Thomas Charles Forbus. Faye worked both inside and outside the home and she was a loving and giving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a quiet person with a strong faith that she shared diligently with her family.  She was a “Mom” to many and always had a smile and kind word for all. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah B. Howdyshell and son, Eric B. Bowie. She is survived by her husband, Walter B. Bowie, Jr.; two daughters, Paula B. (Wendell) Coffey of Waynesboro and Cherry B. (Sam) Collins of Stuarts Draft; one sister, Phyllis Forbus Hanger of Lyndhurst; six grandchildren. Barrett and Aaron Coffey, Hannah, Dylan and Hailey Howdyshell and Sam Collins and two special great-granddaughters. A private graveside service will be held at Augusta Memorial Park with The Rev. Stanlee Kaufman officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 5:00PM, Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the family home, 165 Flint Mountain Drive, Stuarts Draft. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Avante at Waynesboro, 1221 Rosser Avenue, Waynesboro, VA 22980. Share memories and condolences at www.charltonandgroomefuneralhome.com.
