Elva J. Miller

Elva J. Miller, 84, of Stuarts Draft went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 16, 2016 from Augusta Nursing and Rehab, Fishersville.  She was born February 2, 1932 in Bath County, daughter of the late Elmer Rome McMullen and Maggie May McAllister McMullen.

Elva was retired from Hollister, Inc.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Augusta Nursing and Rehab and Hospice of the Shenandoah.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Miller, Jr.; her sisters, Doris Mayberry, Florence LaPorte and Geraldine Forbes.

She is survived by her children, Sandra Hevener and her husband, Larry of Staunton, Robert C. Miller III and his wife, Debbie of New Hope, Lisa Bryant and her husband, Chucky of Fishersville and Scott Miller and his wife, Kimmy of Ruckersville; her sister, Louise Garrett of Lexington; four grandchildren, Scott and Erik Hevener and Carly and Sierra Miller; five great-grandchildren, Christian, Matthew, Liam, Ella and Kadie Hevener; a number of nieces and  nephews and special friends, Geneva Teeter and Dixie Fletcher.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, June 20, 2016 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 2179 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft, conducted by Pastor Ronnie Harris.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Robert C. Miller, III, Scott Miller, Chucky Bryant, Scott Hevener, Erik Hevener and Forest Ervine.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Sunday, June 19, 2016 at the Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Augusta Health-Hospice of the Shenandoah, P. O. Box 1000, Fishersville, VA 22939.
