Edward W. "Wayne" Fitzgerald

Edward W. “Wayne” Fitzgerald, 67, of Nelson County, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation, Fishersville.  He was born March 24, 1950 in Staunton to the late Arthur Mason Fitzgerald and Elsie Belle Fitzgerald.

Wayne was a painter at The Boar’s Head Inn.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank, Danny and Sam Fitzgerald and his sisters, Diane Fitzgerald and Eunice McClain.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patricia Fitzgerald; two sons, Kevin and Brian Fitzgerald, both of Nelson County; four grandsons, Jared, Cody and Trevor Fitzgerald and Dougie Suhr; two granddaughters, Amber and Ashley Fitzgerald and one brother, O. G. Fitzgerald of Craigsville.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 3, 2017 at Oak Lawn Memory Gardens, 1921 Shutterlee Mill Road, Staunton, conducted by The Rev. Pete Campbell.  Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery for the service.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, Sunday, April 2nd  at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville.
