Barry J. Galbraith, 71, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016 in Virginia. Born in Lebanon, PA, April 9, 1945, he was the son of Olive M. Galbraith and the late Yale R. Galbraith.
Barry graduated from Lebanon High School in 1963 and played in the band. He served in the U.S. armed services in Korea during the Vietnam war. After returning home, he worked for Met-Ed for several years.
Barry was an avid fan of Penn State football and New York Yankees baseball. He loved music of many genres. He also loved the mountains and hoped to live there someday. Twenty years ago he moved from Lebanon to a home in the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia.
Barry was an artist and painted beautiful pictures, especially nature scenes.
He is survived by a former wife, Tamah Piel and a loyal companion, Eleanor Jeffers; a daughter Jody M. Galbraith, Honey Brook, PA, a son Greg L. Galbraith, Boston, MA, brothers Gene R. Galbraith, Mechanicsburg, PA and Scott A. Galbraith, Mount Gretna, PA; grandchildren, Amanda M. Beebe, Charles Beebe III, Luke A. Galbraith, Honey Brook, PA, Brynne Cronin and Laura M. Cronin, Wayne, PA, Emma A. Galbraith and Molly S. Galbraith, Boston, MA; great grandchildren, Briel, Adriana and Aubrey Cronin, Wayne, PA.
A memorial service will be held in Virginia at a later date.
